The Running Routine for Elite Baseball Players

Elite travel baseball isn't a stroll. Florida's not a vacation. It's our gritty prep for a season that demands more. My players run a lot, and here's why:

Building Endurance:

Florida's heat is brutal. Endurance is non-negotiable. Long runs build stamina for those extra-inning battles. Simple as that.

Heat Acclimation:

The team will play 2 to 4 games per day even when it’s 90, 95, or even 100+ degrees. Add another 10 or 20 degrees if we are on turf fields. We're here to sweat. Get used to the Florida sun; it's prep for the scorching summer games. Adapt or struggle.

Speed and Agility:

Baseball's about quick moves. Running isn't just about distance; it's about speed and agility. It's our recipe for sharp plays – stealing bases, chasing flies, pivoting on a dime.

Team Bonding:

Running isn't just about muscles, speed, and adapting to heat; it's about the team. Scenic routes are the backdrop – boys chat, encourage, and bond.

Mental Toughness:

Running in heat isn't just a workout; it's a mental grind. Discomfort, focus, competition – it's our training for the real game, life.
